Council held a Pest Fishing day at Harold Kielly Park, Bald Hills to remove noxious fish species Tilapia and Carp from the pond. It was a great success despite the overcast skies with significant numbers of Tilapia caught. Thanks to 2 Bent Rods for running the event so well and Bald Hills Scouts for supporting the thirsty anglers! We are hoping this becomes a regular event to keep our waterways in good health and to restore native fish species with the support of the Freshwater Fishing and Stocking Association Qld.
